This year’s Bike Week message from Beryl is “Move as Yourself”, championing seven different themes across seven days, a little reminder that there’s no single reason people choose to ride.
We're celebrating the freedom that movement brings. The freedom to choose your own route, set your own pace, and travel in a way that reflects who you are. Every ride is an opportunity to explore, connect, and experience the world on your own terms.
Here are the reasons why more and more people are changing the way they move around their towns and cities. *Cue cute bike bell sound effects*
Day 1. Joy: because getting around should feel great
For lots of people, unfortunately, the daily commute is one of the most draggy parts of the day. That’s one reason bikes, e-bikes and e-scooters continue to grow in popularity: they make everyday travel feel simpler and, big gasp, fun!
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, riding means fresh air, movement and a chance to reset mentally. And unlike sitting in traffic, active travel tends to make people feel energised rather than frustrated. Let’s turn that road rage into something good.
Day 2. Confidence: Because independence is key
There’s something genuinely empowering, not to mention satisfying, about being able to get yourself from A-B quickly and easily.
Here at Beryl, we especially love e-bikes and e-scooters as we know they help more people feel comfortable trying active travel for the first time. They lower the barrier to entry and make shorter journeys feel much more accessible.
Day 3. Freedom: Because flexibility matters
Flexibility isn’t just achieved through reformer pilates (although we’ve heard it helps!) Unlocking a mode of transport where you choose the route and mode is pretty liberating.
Want to get home via the park to clear your head? Need a helping hand whizzing to the train station when you’re running late? Want to choose an e-bike because it’s simply too hot to climb that hill home today? Beryl’s got you.

Day 4. Power: Because hills should be fun
Ask anyone who's tried an e-bike for the first time, and they'll probably tell you the same thing: they're far more fun than expected.
The pedal assist gives you a helping hand when you need it, making hills feel like molehills, longer journeys feel easier and everyday riding feel more accessible.
E-scooters bring that same feeling of effortless movement. Instead of worrying about the climb ahead, you can focus on enjoying the ride. Not sure if e-scooters belong in Bike Week? We’ve written this blog post to convince you otherwise!
Day 5. Connection: Because home is where the heart is
We often talk about the connection between people, but active travel can also positively sway the relationship with the places around you.
Nothing makes you feel attached to your surroundings when you’re experiencing them first-hand. From traversing local green spaces to cutting through city centres, riding helps you explore more.
This Bike Week, become part of the collective: join more people choosing lower-impact ways to move through their communities.
Day 6. Expression: Because there’s no one “right” way to feel
Don’t let the Lycra-clad commute gang fool you. Some of our riders are confident cyclists and e-scooter riders, that's true. But a lot are just starting out. That’s exactly what this year’s Bike Week theme is trying to celebrate.
You don’t need specialist gear, long-distance goals or a particular identity to take part. Just find a way to move that makes you feel good.
Day 7. Momentum: Because most habits start small
Very few people suddenly overhaul the way they travel overnight; with small changes, it gradually becomes part of a routine. Bike Week is designed to encourage that first step (or should we say pedal!)
And with 15% off 100 Minute Bundles with the promocode MOVE15 available throughout Bike Week (8-14 June), there’s never been a better time to try a different way of getting around.
However you roll, move as yourself this Bike Week.
