Ride to Work Day

Ride to Work Day: How to add a Side Quest to your Commute…

Why e-bikes and e-scooters make the perfect sidekick for your next adventure

We know every commute has the potential to be more than a linear journey and that's why we’re celebrating Ride to Work Day on 6 August, a day to recognise commuting in all its different shapes and forms.

We think it's high time to move e-scooters into the spotlight, alongside pedal and e-bikes as another way to travel sustainably, actively, conveniently and most importantly, enjoyably!
So, this Ride to Work Day, we're inviting you to make your commute a little more fun by taking the side quest with the help of an e-bike or e-scooter.

Better yet, everyone who rides will receive up to 10 minutes free* to power up their next escapade.

Entering The New Era of Commuting

Have you noticed the traditional commute has evolved? For many of us, hybrid working means travelling fewer days each week, while flexible hours have changed when people choose to travel.

At the same time, we are placing more value on our wellbeing. Choosing to ditch the car and cycling or riding to work instead, helps build a little movement and fresh air into your day, great for stress-busting!

More of us are also mixing different modes of transport into a single journey. Our 2025 Rider Report found that 8% of riders primarily use Beryl as part of a multi-modal journey, helping us fit more into our commute and bridging the first and last mile between public transport and their destination.

The role of e-bikes and e-scooters

With all this new demand for a flexible commute, unlocking an e-bike or e-scooter can be the star player in the game and help you:

  • Skip traffic.
  • Turn one journey into many; stopping for coffee, running errands and meeting up with friends on your way home from work.
  • Cover longer distances (and hills!) without breaking a sweat.
  • Travel more sustainably- the planet will thank you.
  • Save money on fuel and parking - your wallet will thank you!

Providing a service that not only gets you from A to B, but gives you the freedom to make the journey your own and chase that little side quest mission.

Every Commute Deserves a Side Quest

If you've ever played a whimsical game, you might agree that the main mission isn't always the most fun part. Side quests are the optional adventures, the unexpected plot twists, hidden gems and interesting detours you choose to take along the way.

Enter the commuter’s side quest, which could come in many different forms:

  • Checking out a different coffee spot before work.
  • Riding the cycle paths through your local green space.
  • Charging up the hill to enjoy the views at the top.
  • Picking up dinner from a local hotspot.
  • Exploring a new neighbourhood.

These moments are not always easy to fit into your routine by car, or even on foot. But on an e-bike or e-scooter, it's easy to squeeze in a little extra fun. Unlock two wheels and you can whizz through a little pre or post work activity without upsetting your routine.
